Mykolaiv region of Ukraine: two people killed in shelling by Russian forces

In the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine, rescuers have extracted two bodies from under the rubble following a shelling conducted by the Russian forces, as per a report by the regional State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The victims of the attack are a man born in 1978 and a woman born in 1980, head of the region Vitali Kim says. Three more people were injured, a seven-year-old child among them.

On 9 March, Russia conducted a massive missile strike against Ukraine. Russia’s Defence Ministry referred to the attack as a “massive retaliatory strike”.

“In response to the terrorist acts in the Bryansk region organised by the Kiev regime on 2 March this year, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a massive retaliatory strike,” the ministry’s statement read.
