Ukraine’s Emergency Ministry: death toll of Russia’s strike on Zaporizhzhia reaches 13

Employees with Ukraine’s Emergency Ministry have retrieved 13 bodies from under the rubble of the apartment block hit by a Russian missile on 2 March.

Among the dead was an 8-month old baby, the agency says.

The rescuers managed to save 11 people, four cats, and a dog. There are over 100 emergency workers on the site, including 60 rescue workers.

The Russian military executed a missile strike on a five-storey residential building in the city of Zaporizhzhia on 2 March. A total of 20 more people were evacuated from the neighbouring section of the building. Storeys 3, 4, and 5 were completely destroyed, Ukraine’s President Zelensky reported.
