FSB reports to have detained Russian national suspected of ‘high treason’ for ‘attempting to hand over data’ to Ukrainian intelligence

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) reports to have detained a resident of the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk region, suspected of “high treason” for “attempting to hand over data” to the Ukrainian intelligence, Russia’s state news agency TASS writes.

According to the FSB, “the detainee contacted a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry with the purpose of handing over data related to military facilities of the Russian Defence Ministry located on the territory of the Khabarovsk region”.

No additional info on the case has been provided.

The Investigative Division of the FSB has initiated a criminal case on suspected “high treason”, the corresponding article stipulates a punishment from 12 to 20 years of imprisonment.
