Downtown Kherson suffers shelling, at least six killed

The centre of Ukraine’s Kherson has suffered shelling, at least six people have been reported killed, press officer of the Kherson commandant’s office Dmytro Pletenchuk has told Suspilne.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the incumbent governor, has also reported shelling. He says at least 20 explosions were heard in the city. Allegedly, BM-21 “Grad” MLRS are being used.

Suspilne reports projectiles hitting a bus stop in downtown Kherson, the precise number of casualties is not known as of now. Two apartment blocks and a shop was also hit.

Two civilians were killed by Russia’s shelling of Ukraine’s Kherson region on 2 February. One person was injured in the 5 February shelling of the Kherson region.
