Russia’s MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko calls it a career with retirement bout defeat to Ryan Bader

Russian mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko has lost his last fight to American Ryan Bader, the Bellator heavyweight title event was held in Los Angeles.

With this defeat, Emelianenko, 46, has retired from professional MMA.

“On the one hand, I am saddened that I could not make you happy. On the other hand, I am glad you were supporting me. Fighters who have been with me for decades are gathered here today. Now, I will train young guys. I am done. Thank you to everyone,” Emelianenko said after the fight.

The Russian ceremonially laid down his gloves.

Fedor Emelianenko, nicknamed “The Last Emperor”, is a four-time Pride FC champion and two-time RINGS champion. In his career, the Russian had 48 fights, winning 40 and losing seven (one bout was ruled invalid). Ryan Bader, 39, has 31 wins and seven losses.
