Russian Education Minister Sergey Kravtsov has announced that a new history textbook for high school students will be ready in March, it will contain a chapter dedicated to the Ukraine war.

“I hope that it will already be in school in the coming academic year,” he said.

The minister underlined that the textbook will provide a detailed explanation of “the reasons and tasks of the special military operation”.

According to Kravtsov,

Russia today is facing both an “information war” and a “physical” one.

In December, the minister reported that the taskforce for the creation of a new history textbook for schools would be headed by aide to the Russian president Vladimir Medinsky. Kravtsvov noted that the new manual might take a year to be completed “or even a little longer”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously said that new history and social sciences textbooks are essential for the country.
