Five governors, several senior officials sacked in large-scale reshuffle in Ukraine

The Ukrainian cabinet has dismissed five regional governors: Valentyn Reznichenko (Dnipro region), Oleksandr Starukh (Zaporizhzhia), Oleksii Kuleba (Kyiv), Dmytro Zhyvytsky (Sumy), and Yaroslav Yanushevych (Kherson), reported Oleh Nemchinov, a government minister.

Moreover, several deputy ministers were also axed: Viacheslav Shapovalov (Defence Ministry), Ivan Lukeria and Viacheslav Nehoda (Ministry for Communities and Territories Development), as well as Vitaly Muzychenko (Social Policy Ministry).

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier reported a large-scale reshuffle in the Ukrainian government at all levels. Deputy head of the presidential office Kyrylo Tymoshenko has confirmed that he is resigning. Ukrainska Pravda writes citing sources that head of the Kyiv region military administration Oleksii Kuleba is set to replace him. “I thank all Ukrainians for trusting our cause. Thank you to the Ukrainian Armed Forces for saving and protecting the country. Thank you to my wife and son. For understanding and support. It was an honour! See you soon,” Tymoshenko wrote.

Moreover, Oleksii Symonenko was sacked as Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the agency reported.
