The Russian Interior Ministry has placed Russian philanthropist Boris Zimin on the wanted list, Mediazona discovered the order on the ministry’s website.
Zimin is wanted under a “Criminal Code article”. TASS reports that he is charged with illegal alienation of common shares of BelkaCar, a Russian car sharing company. The Investigative Committee has demanded that the charity patron be arrested in absentia.

Boris Zimin left Russia back in 2004. He resides in the UK. Zimin’s father, Dmitry, founded telecommunication brand Beeline as well as Dynasty charity that supports science and Sreda foundation for media, both were shut down after being declared “foreign agents” in Russia. Dmitry Zimin died in 2021 aged 88.
Boris Zimin himself was slapped with a foreign agent label in September 2022.
Earlier, Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny revealed that Boris Zimin covered the cost of his transportation from Russia to Berlin following the politician’s poisoning. The flight was funded by the Zimins’ family fund and cost €79,000. The philanthropist also supports Memorial, the Sakharov Foundation, and several independent media outlets in Russia.
