Ukraine: Russia executes strikes on regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Dnipro

Russia’s military executed two missile strikes on Merefa in the Kharkiv region last night, killing a man, 50, and damaging a civilian industry facility, says Oleh Synehubov, the local governor.

Nine more missiles attacked the Donetsk region: seven in Kramatorsk and two in Kostiantynivka, says Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Donetsk governor. The missiles damaged industrial facilities, no casualties were reported.

Attacks were also reported in the regions of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro. A UN humanitarian mission took fire, says Oleksandr Starukh, the Zaporizhzhia governor.

Ukraine’s calculations state that Russia’s military executed a total of nine missile strikes and three air strikes, as well as 40 MLRS attacks.

The so-called ‘DPR’ stated that Ukraine’s strikes damaged two hydropower stations in the Donetsk region.

Vladimir Putin ordered an armistice on the entire contact line in Ukraine starting 12.00 Moscow time 6 January and finishing 24.00 7 January yesterday following a suggestion from Russia’s Patriarch Kirill. Despite Russia’s claims to be abiding by the unilateral ceasefire, Ukraine reported suffering multiple attacks yesterday.
