Russian MoD: ‘vengeance operation’ kills over 600 Ukrainian servicemen in Kramatorsk dormitories

Russia’s Defence Ministry has reported wiping out 600 Ukrainian servicemen in a massive missile strike against dormitories in Kramatorsk, the Donetsk region, as per RIA Novosti.

“Responding to a criminal strike executed by the Kyiv regime in the first moments of the new year against a temporary accommodation facility in Makiivka, a vengeance operation has been completed,” reads the statement.

The Ministry claims to have identified two dormitory buildings where Ukrainian servicemen were stationed in Kramatorsk, one accommodating over 700 men and the other over 600 men.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the claims.

Ukraine reported wiping out hundreds of Russian draftees in Makiivka on 1 January, using a HIMARS launcher. Russia”s Defence Ministry admitted losing 63 men the following day, later confirming the final death toll of 89 servicemembers.
