The US has provided Ukraine with a military aid package worth $3.075 billion, says Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary.
The package includes 50 Bradley fighting vehicles, 500 anti-tank missiles and 250,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition for those, 55 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles, 100 M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers, 138 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles, additional ammunition for HIMARS launchers, air defence missiles, and other weaponry and equipment.
“Americans, you can’t even imagine how much we love you!” Ukraine’s defence Ministry tweeted recently.
Andriy Yermak, the head of Zelensky’s administration, has announced that the US Treasury has also imposed new sanctions against individuals connected with the Iranian manufacturer of drones used by Russia in Ukraine, as well as against the chairman of the organisation supervising the Iranian ballistic missiles programmes.
Ukraine climbed to number 15 spot in Global Firepower’s ranking of world’s militaries, besting Israel, Germany, Iran, and a few other countries and moving 7 positions up since last January.
It was revealed yesterday that Ukraine would receive American Bradley and German Marder vehicles. Germany is also planning on providing Ukraine with an additional Patriot missile system.
