Ukraine has swapped bodies of killed military personnel with Russia, a Ukrainian ministry reports.
“Another body transfer has taken place today: 42 dead people were handed over. The ombudsman for missing in action has managed to bring back 869 bodies of killed defenders in total since he was appointed,” the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Moscow did not make any official announcements or comments about the Ukrainian statement.
On 14 December, head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andrii Yermak reported that 64 Ukrainian service members had been released by Russia and returned home.
According to him, US citizen Suedi Murekezi had been freed as well, while 4 bodies were repatriated.
