Dmitry Rogozin reports getting wounded in Donetsk

Dmitry Rogozin, the ex-director of Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, has reported getting wounded during a shelling of a hotel and a restaurant in Donetsk, as per his Telegram channel.

“I was having a business meeting with a close circle of associates after returning from one of our volunteer units. We stayed in this hotel for the past months, and the enemy never shelled this place in eight years. Someone leaked the information [that I was there] and several 120mm or 155 mm projectiles hit the place where we were present at 19:45. An investigation will soon clarify who attacked us and from where they did it.

Rogozin also noted that he had been wounded with a 3×4 metal fragment that hit him just over his shoulder blade. Rogozin will need surgery after the incident. Several more “close ones” to him were also injured, he says.

Rogozin’s assistant reported him getting wounded earlier. He said that a local cafe was attacked; TASS reported that one person had been killed.

Vladimir Putin dismissed Rogozin from his director position at Roscosmos in July, replacing him with Yury Borisov, the former deputy chairman of the government.

After his dismissal, Rogozin announced that he would go to war in Donbas and create a “group of military advisers called Tsar’s wolves”.
