Village partially under blackout, railway line damaged after shelling in Russia’s Bryansk region

The power supply to a village in the Bryansk region has been partially interrupted following a round of shelling, regional Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported.

He added that a railway line had been damaged as well. Bogomaz said that buses would be employed to transport people until the railway traffic resumed.

“All emergency response services are operating at the site. As soon as it is safe to approach the power facilities repairs will commence,” he wrote. The governor noted that no one was injured or killed.

Bogomaz accused Ukraine’s forces of shelling the village.

Two explosions were heard in the Bryansk region in the early hours of 13 December, in Klintsy and Klimovo. Bogomaz verified the report that Klintsy had been targeted. According to him, the Ukrainian armed forces attacked the town, there were no casualties or damages.

A video emerged online later which claimed to depict the shelling damage. The video shows devastated military hardware and a large funnel in the ground. Later, another video was published online, showing a woman apologising for recording it.

Klimovo is located approximately 30 km away from the Ukrainian border and houses Russia’s 47144 army base, a central communications base, as well as a military airfield. Klintsy is situated around 60 km away from the border with Ukraine, the town hosts a motorised rifle regiment.
