AP: Russian foreign minister taken to hospital after arriving in Bali for G20 summit. Ministry spokeswoman denies it

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has been taken to hospital after flying to Indonesia’s Bali to attend the upcoming G20 summit, Associated Press reports citing local officials.

“All declined to be identified as they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly. Two of the people said Lavrov was being treated for a heart condition,” Associated Press writes.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova denies this report.

“Sergey Lavrov and I in Indonesia are reading the newsfeed and cannot believe our eyes: he is apparently hospitalised. This is a top-tier fake now, of course. Well, expect a world exclusive,” she wrote.

The G20 summit will take place in Indonesia on 15-16 November. Earlier, the news broke out that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not attend the event, while the Ukrainian leader will take part in it online.
