Six people were killed as a missile hit an apartment block in Ukraine’s Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, the local mayor, reports.

As per preliminary data, the city suffered an attack by a S-300 missile system on 11 November in the morning; the house in question collapsed from storeys five to one, Vitali Kim, the local governor, says. The nearby houses also suffered damage. The rescuing operation is still on.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky has called the attack on Mykolaiv “a cynical response by a terrorist state to our success on the front lines”: “Russia goes on with its disgraceful tactic. And we go on with our fighting,” he said.

Sergey Shoigu, Russia’s Defence Minister, ordered all Russian troops to withdraw from the city of Kherson to the east bank of the Dnipro River. Russia will lose all the occupied territory of the Mykolaiv region, and part of the Kherson region, too.
