Mi-2 helicopter crashes in Russia’s Kostroma region, at least one dead

A Mi-2 helicopter on a medical mission has crashed in Kostroma region, Russia. At least one person has died in the crash, TASS reports, citing emergency services.

Five people are believed to have been on board. One of them is dead, the others are injured, TASS adds.

Kostroma region Governor Sergey Sitnikov says that two paramedics and two pilots have been injured. The Intefrax news agency reports that the patient has died. The governor also described the crash as an “emergency landing”.

The Mi-2 was flying from Sharya <…>. The emergency landing took place several kilometres away from the Sokerkino airport. Emergency services are at the site,” Sitnikov said.
