The Russia-controlled area of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region has limited the sale of alcohol, a representative of the local “administration” Vladimir Rogov said.
“The sale of alcohol has been limited in the region where martial law was introduced. The sale of strong alcohol and beer to servicemen is strictly prohibited,” he wrote.
He noted that shop owners face a fine of 10,000 rubles (€160) for violating the ban, and 30,000 rubles (€480) in case of a repeat offence.
Rogov earlier published a message concerning the alcohol restrictions with an image that read: “Dry law for everyone in Russia while there’s a war!”
Last week, on 19 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared martial law in the Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics”, as well as the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
