Local authorities report death of two civilians following shelling of Zaporizhzhia region

As a result of the overnight shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine, two civilians were killed, at least one person was injured, head of the Zaporizhzhia region administration Oleksandr Starukh says.

It is reported that the city of Orikhiv and the village of Preobrazhenka came under fire. According to Starukh, Russian servicemen used multiple rocket launchers with incendiary ammunition.

“There’s information that two people were killed and one injured in the village of Preobrazhenka. Following the attack, fires erupted in a multi-storey building in the centre of the city and private buildings nearby. Six flats were on fire,” Starukh reports.

The head of the administration also notes that the city of Orikhiv and the villages nearby are shelled almost daily. He calls upon residents of the city to evacuate to safety.

Yesterday, 25 October, Russian troops shelled the city of Dnipro, a gas station caught fire following the attack.

“For now, we know of two civilians killed: one was in a car, the other — at a car wash located near the gas station,” Mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov said. Three locals were injured in the attack.
