During shelling of Russia’s Belgorod, the air defence system of the city has been activated, Mayor of Belgorod Anton Ivanov says.
“Today, the air defence system was activated again. There’s damage done to a [residential building]. I’m on my way there. All the [emergency] services are already there. I will keep you informed,” Ivanov wrote in a Telegram post.
Governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov posted photos of the consequences of the strike on Belgorod.

Gladkov also said that the part of the shell that had not blown up fell on the sports ground of a local college. There has been no information on victims and injured.
According to the governor, Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been shelling the region almost daily.
On 10 October, all schools, colleges, and universities in Belgorod and 10 border districts of the Belgorod region switched to remote classes for a period of two weeks. Kindergartens operate in the mode of standby teams.
Yesterday, 12 October, Gladkov said that Ukraine’s Armed Forces had carried out a strike on a substation in the city of Shebekino.
