Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, rapper Oxxxymiron, and human rights defender Alyona Popova included in ‘foreign agent’ list by Russian government

The Russian Ministry of Justice has included sociologist Iskander Yasaveev, writer Dmitry Glukhovsky, and journalist Yevgeniya Baltatarova in the list of media outlets acting as “foreign agents”. At the same time, rapper Oxxxymiron, journalist Irina Storozheva, and human rights defender Alyona Popova have been added to the list of individuals acting as “foreign agents”. The Ministry of Justice has also declared the Yekaterinburg Resource Centre for LGBT a “foreign agent” non-registered association; the data is shared on the ministry’s website.

In the list of individual “foreign agents” compiled by the government, it is indicated where the person has allegedly been getting their foreign financing from. The Ministry of Justice claims that all three people that ended up on the list today have been receiving money from Ukraine.

Yesterday, 6 October, the Justice Ministry added coordinator of the Vesna movement Bogdan Litvin and ex-press secretary of the Navalny Headquarters in Rostov-on-Don and activist Timofey Martynenko to the list of individuals acting as “foreign agents”.
