Over 2,000 ex-Ukrainian soldiers drafted in Crimea

Over 2,000 residents of Crimea that had served in Ukraine’s Armed Forces before 2014 and then been included in the Russian reserve troops have been drafted for the war in Ukraine, reports Russia’s state news agency TASS, citing Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet Vyacheslav Rodionov.

“There are over 2,000 people present here. Specialists: shooters, grenade launchers, anti-tank guided missile operators, armoured vehicle drivers. Today, they were sworn in, their training to be able to complete tasks is starting. Time will tell what tasks they will be completing,” Rodionov said.

Sevastopol’s governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said that those drafted men that had previously served in Ukraine’s army and never served in the Russian one took military oaths. The men will be taken to the location of their further service on 27 September. Sevastopol’s drafted residents will form two units.
