On 24 September, Ukraine’s Armed Forces destroyed four aircraft and one anti-aircraft warfare system of the Russian army, reports the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine.
These are the biggest daily losses for Aerospace Forces of Russia, without taking into account land losses, for example, the previous destruction of 10 aircraft located on the Novofedorivka aerodrome in Crimea, The Insider outlet notes.
According to the same report, Ukraine’s Armed Forces destroyed 13 Russian tanks, 25 armoured personnel vehicles, one multiple launch rocket system, 20 vehicles and fuel tanks, 4 special equipment units, 7 artillery systems, 10 UAVs, and one cruise missile.
The Insider provides video proof that has been published both on Ukrainian and pro-Russian social media groups. Judging by the video, five aircraft were destroyed in the air yesterday: one jet Sukhoi Su-25, two fighter-bombers Sukhoi Su-34, one fighter aircraft Sukhoi Su-30, and one attack helicopter Ka-52.
According to the data collected by project GeoConfirmed, the Su-25 jet and the Su-30 aircraft were shot down in the Kharkiv region (coordinates: 232297, 37.724656).
Russian Telegram channels noted that 24 September was a bad day for Russian aviation. Telegram channel Fighterbomber, which covers Russian aviation news, was one of the first to report the death of Kanamat Motashev, retired general mayor of the Russian Air Force. The post was later deleted.

The Insider's screenshots from pro-Russian Telegram channels: 1) “Fucking awful day.” 2) “Where to mobilise aircraft if everything will continue as it was today?”
At the beginning of September, BBC Russian Service reported that over 900 elite specialists of the Russian army had been killed since the start of the war. Among them, there were reports on the deaths of 67 Russian military pilots, including co-pilots and flight mechanics.
“It’s a special kind of loss seeing as crews of military planes and helicopters are made up of valuable specialists and are considered the elites in any army of the world. The training of one pilot-sniper could take up to 15-17 years and cost $12-14 mln,” BBC reported back then.
