‘Referendums’ on joining Russia have started in occupied regions of Ukraine

The so-called “referendums” on joining Russia have started in Russia-occupied regions of Ukraine, says Denis Pushilin, the head of “Donetsk People’s Republic.”

Polling stations opened at 8 in the morning. The “referendums” will last up to 27 September.

“Do you support leaving Ukraine, forming a separate country, and joining Russia?” is the ballot question in the regions of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.

Polling stations have also opened in Russia proper. The authorities of the Russia-occupied regions announced “referendums” on 20 September.
