Residents of various cities and towns in Russia’s Rostov region report having heard a powerful blast, local media outlet 161.ru reports.
The explosion was heard in Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Taganrog, Novoshakhtinsk, Novocherkassk, Shakhty, Aksay, and Yeysk.
The explosion rattled people’s fences throughout the region and triggered car alarms to go off in Rostov-on-Don, 161.ru reports. Three or four plumes of black smoke were witnessed near Peshkovo 5 miles from the town of Azov.
The local Emergency Service reports no information of explosion or any other emergency. No officials have commented on the matter yet.
A video filmed exactly after the explosion is being shared on social media. Baza reports air defence systems being in operation in Taganrog.
