Ukraine’s Zelensky signs law on including bomb shelters in all new buildings

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law that obliges developers to include bomb shelters in all newly constructed buildings, the Ukrainian parliament’s website says.

According to the law, Ukraine is to deploy a network of bomb shelters. This includes bomb shelters constructed in all new buildings.

State bodies can deny to issue certificates to developers if the building does not have a bomb shelter.

According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, since the start of the war, at least 5,587 civilians were killed in Ukraine, and another 7,890 were injured.
