A huge explosion has hit a mall Surmalu in Yerevan, Armenia, reported Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
Firemen units are on the scene. The reason for the blast is still unknown.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, one person was killed and several dozens were injured. Later, RIA Novosti reported, citing the ministry, that the number of people injured during the explosion has increased to 51.
The fire has been classified as degree three in complexity. Russian state news agency TASS, citing the Emergency Service head, reported that seven people had been hospitalised.
The Health Ministry of Armenia told Russian outlet RBC that there was a 5-year-old girl among the injured, her life is not in danger.
The Surmalu mall specialises in wholesale of items and foods.
The citizens are helping to eliminate the effects of the blast and fire.
