Following the shelling of the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, one person was killed and four wounded, reports the regional department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

The city was shelled at around 7am today, 27 July. One of the projectiles hit a two storey hotel, the building was partly destroyed, said the local authorities.
“Rescuers extracted a man from under the rubble, he was hospitalised. All in all, since the start of the rescue operation, we have located the body of one killed person, four people were wounded,” stated the emergency service.

Currently, the rescuers are in contact with a man still under the rubble. They can hear him but cannot yet see him. The rescue operation is ongoing.

Furthermore, head of the Donetsk regional administration Pavlo Kyrylenko said that the cities of Toretsk, Avdiivka, and the village Yablunivka had been shelled. Residential buildings, private sector properties, garages, and the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant got damaged.

In total, according to the UN, after the start of the war in Ukraine, 5,327 civilians were killed, while 7,035 were wounded.
Among the killed there are 2,019 men, 1,379 women, 143 girls, and 164 boys, as well as 41 children and 1,491 adults whose sex is yet unknown.
