One civilian killed in shelling of Russia’s Belgorod region

A civilian was killed in the shelling of the village of Nekhoteevka in Russia’s Belgorod region, governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reports.

“Four residential buildings were damaged in Nekhoteevka. The roof, the windows, the fence and the village club were damaged. A local resident born in 1958 was killed. The circumstances of him being in the village that was evacuated in late May are being investigated,” he said.

According to Gladkov, the village of Zhuravlyovka came under attack as well, but there is no visible damage there. Preliminary information suggests that there were five attacks.

The Belgorod region has declared a “yellow” terrorist threat level until 24 July. The “yellow” terrorist threat level does not suppose the establishment of temporary accommodation centres.

It is impossible to verify the information provided by the warring sides during an ongoing conflict.

On the morning of 20 July, governor of Russia’s Kursk region Roman Starovoyt reported attacks on the border territories from the side of Ukraine.
