Commander of Russia’s 20th Motor Rifle Division killed in Ukraine

Alexey Gorobets, commander of the Volgograd-based 20th Motor Rifle division, was killed in action in Ukraine, Bloknot Volgograda cites his wife and a local vets organisation.

“The command called me and informed me that my husband had been killed,” Anna Gorobets said.

Colonel Gorobets, 49, has commanded the division since 2021, V1.ru says. He was behind the arrangement of Army-2021, Russia’s military forum. His deputy, second-in-command Colonel Alexey Avramchenko, also lost his life in Ukraine.

Russia lost its first female soldier in this war, Anastasia Savitskaya, yesterday.
