A grave with two male corpses in it, both having signs of torture, was found in Kalinovka, a locality previously occupied by the Russian army, reports the office of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General.
The men had their hands tied behind their backs shortly before they had been killed, their fingernails are missing, and there are bullet wounds on their bodies. “We believe that the Russian soldiers tortured and killed two civilians in Kalinovka,” the agency says, a pre-trial investigation is underway.
A total of 1202 dead bodies were found in the Kyiv region as of 2 May, and at least 300 people are still missing.

The Russian troops pulled out of the Kyiv region in early April. Shortly after that, mass civilian deaths were reported in numerous cities and villages in the region, including Bucha, which was occupied by Russia since the start of the invasion on 24 February.
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed that the Russian army had left the city on 30 March, dismissing the reports of civilian deaths in Bucha as “another provocation.”
Mayor of Bucha Anatoliy Fedoruk said in late April that exhumation and identification of bodies in Bucha is nearly complete. According to the mayor, 412 dead bodies were found as of 23 April, however, this number may change.
