Missile strikes hit several infrastructure objects in Ukraine’s Odesa, regional governor Maksym Marchenko stated. He added that there are casualties and injured persons, but did not provide the exact figures.
According to Operational Command South of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, “city infrastructure objects” were damaged in the missile strike, including a place of worship.
Earlier, videos and photos from Odesa showing a plume of smoke were posted on social media.
Russia has not issued a statement on the attack so far.
A spokesman for the Odesa regional administration Serhiy Bratchuk said on Monday that Russia had struck the bridge across the Dniester Estuary in the Odesa Region.
On April 26, the bridge over the Dniester Estuary was partially destroyed as a result of a Russian attack. No railway personnel were injured in the attack. Traffic on the bridge was restricted following the strike.
