The Ukrainian Army has captured Ruska Lozova, a village in the Kharkiv region, reports the SBU Land Forces Command on its Facebook page.
“This is a settlement of strategic importance located on the Kharkiv-Belgorod highway. The enemy’s artillery which shelled the civilian infrastructure and residential areas in Kharkiv was located here," reads the report.
The operation was executed by an assault team of the Defence Ministry Chief Intelligence Directorate, noted the agency.
The shelling of Kharkiv began shortly after the Russian invasion into Ukraine began. Explosions are heard in the city from the first day of the war, people are hiding from air strikes in basements, underground parking lots, as well as the local subway.
