The Odessa region suffered a missile strike today which partly destroyed a railway bridge across the Dniester Estuary, according to Ukraine’s Suspilne Novyny. Sergey Bratchuck, a local official, confirmed.
No railway personnel were injured. The bridge has been closed, reports Oleksandr Kamyshin, the CEO of Ukraine Railways.
The Dniester Estuary is a bay on the Black Sea coast into which the Dniester River flows. It separates the southwestern and northeastern parts of the Odessa region. The bridge across the estuary is the only railway connection between the two parts.
Russian missile strikes targeting transportation facilities were reported yesterday in the Vinnytsia region, killing five people. Five railway stations in Western and Central Ukraine were shelled, and at least 16 trains were delayed.
