“Neo-Nazis” allegedly set to assassinate TV propagandist Solovyov were going to blow up his car, Russian investigation agency claims

The Investigative Committee of Russia said that the detained "neo-Nazis", who were allegedly planning to murder Vladimir Solovyov, were going to blow up his car, as per the agency’s website.

A total of six people were detained, they are accused of attempted assassination. According to the Investigative Committee, the detainees owned “certain components required to create an improvised explosive device, the device itself, weapons and ammunition, Nazi symbols, as well as drugs.” In addition, the detectives found “fake Ukrainian passports with misleading personal data, which were planned to be used after the crime would have been committed.”

A video containing FSB footage is going viral on Telegram. In the video, one of the detainees claims that the assassinations of other propagandists were also discussed among the group members, potential targets being Dmitry Kiselyov, Olga Skabeeva, Yevgeny Popov, Tigran Keosayan and Margarita Simonyan. He also said that the group was planning “to arson cars carrying Z-symbols, as well as military registration and enlistment offices". All detainees had their faces blurred in the video.

The Ukrainian Security Service has made a statement regarding the FSB's accusations that "neo-Nazis" had allegedly prepared the assassination of Solovyov on their order. The Ukrainian agency said that it "does not intend to comment on the new fantasies of the Russian special services who make up achievements to please the Russian audience." The agency also noted that it had no plans on killing Solovyov.

Earlier today, the Russisan Security Service (FSB) claimed to have detained “members of the National Socialism/White Power, a neo-Nazi terrorist organization, who intended to assassinate Solovyov.” The agency also claims that the detainees have confessed.
