Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia under attack for third time this week. Missile hits residential building, killing one

Russian forces have struck the city of Zaporizhzhia, which is under the control of Ukraine, for the third time this week. A high-rise residential building was destroyed in the attack, head of the regional administration Oleksandr Starukh said.

He noted that there were about a dozen strikes.

Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia city council Anatolii Kurtiev reported that one civilian had been killed. Five people were injured, including a child, who was wounded by broken glass. Rescue teams and doctors are working on the scene.

This is the third strike on Zaporizhzhia this week. The city was under attack on 6 and 9 October, with missiles hitting a residential building. At least 17 people were killed in the first attack. The second strike killed 14. Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that since 3 October, at least 43 people had been killed in the attacks on Zaporizhzhia.
