A Moscow court sentenced two students to five and five and a half years in prison respectively for indecent exposure after children allegedly spotted them naked through an apartment window, local news outlet MSK1 reported.
The two students, who were named as Timur A. and Daniil R., both in their early twenties, were reported to the police two years ago by a woman whose children told her that the pair “were being too loud, pouring water on each other, and doing something that looked like sex on the windowsill”.
According to Telegram news channel Baza, the unidentified woman filed a police report, after which the students were detained, though according to MSK1, she did not want to see Timur and Daniil imprisoned.
While both of the accused, who insisted that they did not have sex, pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to Baza, their accounts of the incident didn’t align, with one of them saying that he came to his friend’s house to take a shower after his hot water was cut off, and the other saying that they had been fixing a pipe and had undressed so as not to get their clothes wet.
Despite an investigation carried out by Russian tabloid daily Moskovsky Komsomolets, which proved that it would have been impossible for the children to see what was happening in the window of the apartment from the playground, the court found the students guilty.
