The Russian military launched a barrage of missile and drone strikes on multiple regions of Ukraine overnight, with the cities of Kyiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lutsk, and Myrhorod all reportedly coming under attack.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported explosions in the capital early on Thursday, but said the city’s air defence systems were working. A spokesperson later said that all incoming missiles had been shot down.
Zaporizhzhia Governor Ivan Fedorov said infrastructure had been damaged in the regional capital Zaporizhzhia and that one person had been injured.
Lviv Governor Andriy Sadovyi said that Russian forces fired 10 missiles at his region in the west of the country, of which nine were shot down.
Poltava Governor Filip Pronin reported one Russian shell hit a warehouse in the city of Myrhorod, causing a large fire, but no casualties, according to preliminary reports.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone struck an oil depot in the Kursk region of southwestern Russia, Governor Roman Starovoyt announced on Wednesday, leading to a fire but causing no casualties.
Two Ukrainian drones struck the oil depot, according to Telegram news channel 112, causing three gas tanks to catch fire.
