A Ukrainian police officer was killed as a result of a Russian bombing in the Zaporizhzhia region city of Orikhiv, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko said on Saturday.
“A 31-year-old police captain was killed. My condolences to his family,” he wrote in a Telegram post.
Furthermore, 12 people, including four employees of the ministry, were injured and are being hospitalised.
In the morning, the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the Russian army had used heavy artillery on the Dnipro region city of Nikopol on 11 August, injuring a 71-year-old local woman and damaging dozens of buildings.
Earlier today, the ministry said that a 73-year-old woman had been killed in Russian shelling on the Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.
