Russian man formerly arrested for disobeying police now accused of high treason

The 37-year-old Sergey Chunosov from the Amur region in the Russian Far East has been charged with high treason, Telegram channels Baza and Avtozak Live reported on Tuesday.

Law enforcement claims that Chunosov, while residing in the city of Blagoveshchensk, had intended to go fight on the side of Ukraine in the current war.

On 17 July, Sergey Chunosov was detained for failing to comply with police orders. A criminal case against him was opened on 25 July.

Earlier, the FSB reported that it had arrested three residents of Voronezh region who allegedly passed information about Russian military facilities and transport infrastructure to the Ukrainian Right Sector movement. They have also been charged with high treason.
