Ukraine’s top military commander Zaluzhny: Ukraine will strike Russian soil with weapons of its own production

In an interview with The Washington Post, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny said that it was necessary to carry out strikes on Russian land — from Ukrainian-made weapons if Western partners are against the use of their weapons in Russia.

“To save my people, why do I have to ask someone for permission what to do on enemy territory? For some reason, I have to think that I’m not allowed to do anything there. Why? Because Putin will … use nuclear weapons? The kids who are dying don’t care.

“This is our problem, and it is up to us to decide how to kill this enemy. It is possible and necessary to kill on his territory in a war.

“If our partners are afraid to use their weapons, we will kill with our own. But only as much as is necessary,” Zaluzhny said.

According to Ukraine’s top general, Ukraine has a need for resources it’s currently lacking to carry out the counteroffensive the purpose of which is to liberate the temporarily occupied by Russia territories of Ukraine, defeat Russia, and minimise Ukrainian losses. At the same time, Western officials claim that Ukraine has enough weapons to succeed.

The army’s commander also said that he “eagerly” reads everything written by Russia’s Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov, whose writings he described as “very, very interesting”, and lamented that “he hasn’t published anything lately”.

“He is an enemy — an enemy who is very smart. Smart and therefore devious. He is still strong. So you have to respect him as such and look for ways to kill him. Because that is the only way to win,” Zaluzhny said.
