Navalny’s ally Vladimir Milov arrested in absentia for spreading ‘fake news’ about Russian army 

A Moscow district court has arrested Russian politician Vladimir Milov in absentia for two months from the moment of his arrest in Russia over charges of spreading “fake news” about the Russian Armed Forces, Mediazona reports, citing the court’s press service.

Milov is an ally of Russian opposition politician Alexey Navalny, he was forced to leave Russia amidst the persecution of Navalny’s organisations. On 6 May, Russia’s Justice Ministry added Milov to the list of “foreign agents”.

Milov has been a suspect since 5 August 2022. On 7 June 2022, he was declared wanted. 

Milov is charged with spreading “fake news” for the YouTube video titled Putin’s crimes posted on the Navalny Live YouTube channel in March 2022.
