Crimea chief says peninsula was attacked by nine drones overnight

Nine drones were downed in Russia-occupied Crimea overnight, Russia-installed head of the regional administration Sergey Aksyonov reported.

“Last night, air-defence systems neutralised five enemy drones, four more were jammed by radio electronic warfare systems and grounded. As one of the drones fell to the ground, windows were shattered in three private houses and two cars in the city of Dzhankoy,” he wrote.

According to him, a drone that did not explode was discovered on a privately owned plot of land, 50 people were evacuated to defuse it.

No one was injured or killed.
