Anti-Corruption Foundation chief Maria Pevchikh branded foreign agent by Russia

Chairwoman of the Anti-Corruption Foundation Maria Pevchikh is among several individuals and entities that Russia has added to its register of “foreign agents” on Friday evening.

According to the Russian Ministry of Justice, Pevchikh has “disseminated views aimed at forming a negative image Russia”, publicly demanded sanctions against Russian officials, and “called for the overthrow of the current authorities”.

The revised list now also includes independent media outlet Taiga Info, head of the ACF’s investigative unit Georgy Alburov, politician Alexander Osovtsov, former Russian MP Maria Maksakova-Igenbergs, social commentator Vladimir Pastukhov, and volunteer Elena Agafonova.
