Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Russia’s Chechnya, has received a Merited Human Rights Advocate of Chechnya medal, TASS reported.
The medal was awarded for “outstanding achievements in protecting constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, bravery and integrity in issues of upholding national interests of the Chechen people, commitment to traditional values, and devotion to duty”, TASS noted.
According to the state-affiliated news agency, Chechnya’s commissioner for human rights Mansur Soltaev handed the award. The same medals were given to Kadyrov’s mother Aymani Kadyrova and his late father Akhmat Kadyrov, posthumously.
