Death toll of Russia’s strike in Zaporizhzhia rises to 10

The death toll of Russia’s strike on an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia has risen to 10, Ukraine’s Emergency Service reports.

Rescuers retrieved three more bodies from under the rubble today. Among the deceased is one child. Removal action is still ongoing.

Local utility services have removed over 333 tonnes of rubble from the site. Therapists with the Emergency Service have helped 92 residents of the destroyed building and their family members.

The Russian military executed a missile strike on a five-storey residential building in the city of Zaporizhzhia on 2 March. A total of 11 people were saved from under the rubble, including a pregnant woman. A total of 20 more people were evacuated from the neighbouring section of the building.

Storeys 3, 4, and 5 were completely destroyed, Ukraine’s President Zelensky reported.
