Six service members have died in a fire that broke out in a dugout in Russia’s Kursk region, TASS reports citing emergency services.

Update

The Russian Defence Ministry has confirmed that six conscripts have died in the Kursk region. “A fire broke out in a dugout as a result of a serious violation of safety rules by Western Military District service members in the Kursk region,” the ministry noted.

TASS was told that the fire occurred in a dugout located near the village of Ulanok. According to the source, seven people were inside the structure. The fire killed six people, while one survived with burns.

Baza earlier wrote that six conscripts died in the region.

“The service members in the dugout were stoking a furnace and irresponsibly poured petrol in it. An explosion and a fire ensued, while only two service members managed to run out,” the Telegram channel reported.
