Local authorities: Ukraine’s Kherson targeted by large-scale shelling, people killed and injured

The Ukrainian city of Kherson has been shelled in a large-scale attack, the local authorities reported.

“The enemy is targeting residential areas of the city. As of now, we know about many affected: both killed and injured,” the statement reads.

Social media pictures demonstrate the consequences of the attacks, including visible bodies lying on the ground.

The local health ministry said that Kherson’s regional clinical hospital had been struck. A nurse was reportedly injured.

Senior regional official Yuri Sobolevsky published photos taken after the hospital was shelled.

According to preliminary reports, one person died, two more were injured.

“As of 2:00 PM (local time) seven attacks have been carried out. Warehouses, a hospital, a car station, a school playground were hit, buildings and cars were damaged as well,” the local authorities noted.
