The United States will supply Ukraine with a new $2.5 billion military aid package, the Pentagon announces.
The security assistance will include additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), eight Avenger air defence systems, 59 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), 90 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), and 53 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs).
Washington will also present Kyiv with High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs), 350 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), artillery rounds of various calibres, and more.
The total volume of the aid provided to Ukraine by the US has reached $26.7 billion, CNN estimates.
Ahead of the NATO meeting at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, a whole number of countries announced arms deliveries to Ukraine. In particular, Denmark will supply Ukraine with 19 French-made Caesar howitzer artillery systems, while Sweden will send Ukraine around 50 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles and Archer Artillery Systems.
Estonia will provide equipment estimated at €113 million: dozens of FH-70 and D-30 howitzers and hundreds of anti-tank M2 grenade launchers with ammunition. Latvia will supply dozens of Stinger systems, two Mi-17 helicopters, dozens of machine guns, and drones. Ukraine will receive two Mi-8 helicopters and L-70 anti-aircraft weapons from Lithuania (the total volume of military aid provided to Ukraine estimated at €125 million).
