Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has asked the Moscow Lefortovo Court to arrest in absentia Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, under the article on “violation of territorial integrity of the Russian Federation”, as per the data posted on the Moscow courts website.
The service also asked to arrest in absentia Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, under the same article. FSB put Vereshchuk and Dzhaparova on the international wanted list, Russia’s state news agency TASS reports.
According to the information on the website, arrest files on Vereshchuk and Dzhaparova were submitted on 6 December, the court hearings dates have not yet been scheduled. The cause for initiating criminal cases is unknown.
As per Russia’s Criminal Code, the punishment under this article is from 6 to 10 years behind bars.
